Brant Larsen, DC has been practicing chiropractic for more than 22 years. Over that time, cranial adjusting has become one of the most important parts of his practice.
His interest in cranial adjusting began with curiosity — he wanted to understand a different approach, and initially wanted to see whether there was a way to help free up his own skull. What started as curiosity eventually became a major part of his clinical practice.
His approach
Dr. Larsen’s cranial approach combines several methods, refined and combined over more than two decades:
- Cranial Facial Release (CFR) — the flagship technique in his cranial approach
- Afferentology — muscle testing used as part of his clinical assessment, focused on afferent input to the nervous system
- Percussion-hammer technique
“I look for things that aren’t working correctly. Then I try to figure out why. I don’t want to simply chase symptoms — I want to understand the person.”
His philosophy
Dr. Larsen’s approach is guided by a simple principle:
We don’t treat conditions. We treat people who have conditions.
Rather than starting with a diagnosis, he starts with an assessment of the person in front of him — taking a detailed history, examining the cranial system, testing muscle response, and reassessing after every adjustment to see what actually changed.
